This was my first vape, and it is a great piece, so I got lucky. Only down sides at all are a moderately long heat up time (for maximum output), and I gave it a 3 for efficiency because - for primarily solo users such as myself - the unit is better suited to a larger group taking turns, since you invest a majority of the herb in every session. I have used it over and over a few times on a large load, but I know some has to be wasted during all the heat up-cool down time.But fairly small, portable, an internal thermostat for 190 degree maintenance and a large fuel tank (about 2 hrs operation per fill) make it very well designed. And they come in some whacky colors. Butane refilling is a bit sloppy, but I think that's more the fault of the butane valve system itself, since most butane products are sloppy to refill. |

The Vape-or-Smoke is designed, apparently, to provide either vaporizing or combustion of the herb... which it does. The failing is the "or" part, u rarely get to choose what it's going to do. The flame adjustment is extremely touchy, and if set too low, no vape, too high - smoke. In fact, it seems on mine, the only way to successfully vape is to set the set screw so low that it won't ignite on it's own, and an outside flame source is needed. An inconvenience, particularly since this unit was reportedly designed "for 1-hand operation by skiers and snowboarders." Needing a 2nd lighter removes that function.The reason I only gave it a 2 overall, is the Warranty. There is none. And, I admit, the manufacturer explicitly says in the book (inside the box, once you've bought it) that the unit is sold "as is." Caveat emptor, to the max. That and the fact that - since many buyers of vapes use them for the lessened smell - having the thing suddenly burn up a chunk without warning when you think it's vaping, could be a hassle if there's no open window nearby to RUN towards for exhaling. : ) |
