I smoke a lot. 2oz a week or so. I smoked a lot of joints, blunts and the bong before I bought my V-Tower and I was *highly* (pun intended) skeptical. $200 is a lot of money for me! I researched, quite literally, for a year before I decided on and saved up the money for my new 'toy'. I found that ceramic heating elements were best, that cool-touch was possible. That digital temp displays seemed to be less erratic. That I, personally, didn't want a bag option. That off-name/no-name brands are a bad idea. I was so, so nervous when I finally ordered. What if it got here and I hated it? What if it tasted bad, or, most importantly, didn't get me as stoned? Couldn't have been more wrong. I find that inhaling slowly is best. My wife and I actually sit around with the stopwatch app on my phone and see how long we can inhale continuously. If you slow it way, way down and focus you can inhale for nearly a minute. Jesus. Talk about stoned. Even with just normal hits, this thing will mess you up. I mean giggly messed up, which I don't get often. I've also noticed a DEFINITE increase in my lung capacity. My breathing is so much better since I've quit smoking. I have more energy. The taste is incredible. You also use a lot less. We have gone from 4oz a week to 3, and we did not cut back. Your clothes don't smell like smoke anymore either! I was also worried that it would be a pain in the ass, ie: taking too long to heat up. Getting too hot. Needing to be turned off/cooled down for long periods of time. Be a hassle to "share". Be a hassle to take with you. None of these things were true. It heats up in about 10 minutes. (I've found 380-390F to be my optimum temp, but when I'm just leaving it on for the occasional toke while I clean, 360ish is great, it won't vape on its own) Anyhow, I digress. 10 minutes to heat up. I honestly leave mine on all day. The unit is completely cool-touch, doesn't even warm the coffee table I set it on. I had it on a pot-holder (another pun? perhaps.) for the first month and was really over-cautious, but wasn't necessary at all. The bowls last awhile, I find they last longer than a typical bong-bowl before needing to be refilled. Refilling is easy, fast (I can repack a bowl in about 30 seconds). The stir tool they include is great. The screens are easy as pi to clean, just brush them with a toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol, rinse well and voila! Ready to vape cleanly again. I find, toking heavily, that I need to clean a screen once every 2-3 days. The screens can stand up to about 4 or 5 cleanings before you'll need to replace them. They are $5 online for 2 screens. They do not use "standard" screens that can be easily found, so order them before you need them! The whip is fairly easy to clean, needs to be done every 2 weeks or so. Less if you're a clean freak. The glass ends can be cleaned with alcohol but use vinegar/baking soda to clean the tubing. The whip with the glass ends can be replaced for about $15 online. This unit does have a portability option. You can buy a battery pack online for $99. I haven't gotten this yet, but am planning to soon. Anyhow, that's about it for me. I recentely took a trip to Miami, and stayed at my friends house. After getting settled down after the trip out there, I saw he had a Vapor Bros vape sitting on his coffee table. I was very imnpressed with the Vapor Bros whip, but that wasnt enough to sell me on the unit. After loading the whip and using the unit, I was disappointed. I had high hopes for this unit, but it didnt do as well as I thought it would. The vape didnt seem as visible as it is out of my Classic. I also noticed the unit is made out of wood, and not Bamboo as my Aroma CLassic is. The unit is covered under a lifetime waranty, but you must register it with the manufactuer within 90 days of your purchase, which can be a great hassle at times. I had not heard to much about the Natural Goods Vape before a friend of mine purchased it, but I am glad I have used it now! The asthetics of the unit are not as great as the Extreme or Volcano, but the unit itself is very strong. The Natural Goods has a fan inside the unit to assist you when drawing vapors from your favorite blends. The whip that is included with the unit is also very good. It uses Medical grade tubing that is thicker than most other whips, and also it dosent get kinked up when the whip is put away for storage reasons. I have heard some people talking about the unit not heating up at times, but if you read the included instructions, it states that the whip must be attached to the unit to create the best vapor possible. The unit also has a lifetime warantee so no need to worry there. After reading a lot about them, decided to give this one a try. Although the warranty is good, remember it is not for all parts on this vaporizor! When I got this in the mail, it was missing the grinder that was suppose to come with it. Also ordered a glass poker which was not the one I ordered. So be sure You check out everything when You open it. I did not call customer service to complain, since already have a grinder, and can use the poker they did send. I read this review down below, which does give a beginner some help on what to expexpect somewhat. But would like to add that watching the video says to turn it all the way up and let burn off the packing oil around the heating element. It does not show that You can keep turning the knob much farther than to the lil flames. Be sure to turn it all the way up and let it heat up for as long as they recommend to do. If Your a heavy smoker, then turning it to where they recommend might not make You think Your smoking anything at all. You do not really want to crank it past the red while smoking, it will give You the vapor smoke coming out of Your lungs, but is more harsh really then required to get You, that medicine feeling! The Taste is great on this, way better than You do expect, flavors pop out and makes it fun to try different items to vapor! You can cut the tubing down if You find it takes forever to get a good pull. But try it out a few times before doing that, or make sure You have extra tubing in case You do not like it and wish it shorter. You can start vaporizing in about 3 minutes once You turn it on, take Your time and hold it like You would if smoking. You will find Yourself feeling the effects in about 10 to 15 minutes. If You forget to shut off the unit, it does shut off after 20 minutes which is great if Your a bit foggie now. The only not so good thing I would like to mention is the chamber where You put Your items to vaporize is made from plastic, and seems a bit cheap to me. It does get hot like the glass, so be carefull to let it cool down before cleaning and setting it up for use again! Hope You enjoy like I am!!!! In all honesty I don't have TONS of experience vaporizing. I've only owned two vaporizers in my life. However I will say that the reasons for purchasing the VaporBrothers unit were for health reasons completely. The Vapor Brothers vaporizers made the cut for me because they use no toxic glues, metals, plastics, paints, etc.. Only lab quality glass, ceramics, tubing, etc. Check their site for the stats. But trust me. They are the connoisseurs choice for under $500. My first vape was a Vapir 1 hand-held, digital, forced-air, hand-held, cd-player and navigation unit. Okay, so I'm joking about the CD/Nav thing, but do you get the point? Lots of features to distract you from the point. And that point being that vape'ing is healthier... Well until you introduce toxic plastics, glues, etc into the air stream. So just think about what you're buying before you really buy it. My Vapir 1 is... well I have no idea. I had already used the silver surfer, so admittingly i tested this with high hopes and I'm thrilled to say i was not let down. It has the same basic operation as the ssv (silver surfer) with few differences. First and most notably are the aesthetic changes. It has an absence of worked glass thus making it cheaper which was nice for me since I am not to hung up on the looks of my vape. It sits vertically up unlike the angled ssv, which allows the ground glass whip to sit comfortably in the heater cover without the fear of it falling out and spilling your blend everywhere. The vapor quality is superb much like the ssv and gives you top flavor until your blend is completely drained of any and all essence. It took a total of 3 mintues for the vape to be fully heated enough for me to vape and burn my finger on the exposed heater cover, which by the way may be the only problem with this vape. Upon opening, the unit came with a very visual-pleasing Dual Chamber whip. I was very impressed with this. The unit also came with a free acrylic grinder, which i was stoked on. Upon turning on the unit, i noticed the new thermal tube heating element which utilizes no screens. This was aslo very impressive. The unit produced a very strong vapor, and the unit also turned off after 30 minutes of straight use. Overall, it is a very good unit. I hate Box Vapes due to not having a great taste or really ever effecting me. I tried this vape at a College party and I fell in Love. I really like to taste my blend and this vape brought out all the taste. It also didn't take long to heat up at all. It heated up within 5 Minutes. I also like how the vape turns off automatically if not used for a while. I always forget things like turning electric things off. This unit is a blessing to me. This is my second unit and I love all the features associated with it. I was leary at first because it did not have a digital readout like some of the other box units. But digital read out or not this unit is excellent. I have complete control over the temperature, and I especially enjoy the fact that if by chance I should forget to turn off my unit it will shut off after 20 minutes by itself.
