iolite Portable Vaporizer Overview

The iolite vaporizer is a portable direct inhalation unit manufactured in Ireland by Oglesby & Butler.  Introduced to the market in 2008, the iolite portable vaporizer uses a patented one of a kind flameless gas catalytic conversion heating method and thermostatic temperature gage.

The iolite Portable fits in the palm of your hand without any of the traditional restrictions such as power cords or battery packs.  With a weight of only 81 grams/2.8 oz, the iolite Vaporizer weighs less than your typical mobile phone and is about the same size.

Addressing key consumer needs such as size, rich vapor delivery and most importantly true portable freedom, the iolite is making a powerful impact on the Portable Vaporizer Market.

iolite Vaporizer Ease of Use

The iolite vaporizer has a very basic functionality and easy to follow instructions are included with every unit.

I was able to follow the detailed illustrations without any confusion.  The iolite is the perfect portable vaporizer for adults of all ages.

Once activated, The Orange temperature control light on the port of the iolite will stay lit until the optimal Vaporization temperature is achieved.

To turn off the iolite, simply turn the power switch to “O”, the unit will cool down in less than 5 minutes. A normal cycle of released gas is expected as the unit cools down.

The iolite comes complete with a unique convenient travel case which can store the unit, included replacement parts, and the optional comfort care package.

iolite Vaporizer Heat up Time

The iolite’s catalytic heating element is built into an isolated chamber which allows the butane to heat the unit.  The desired heating temperature is reached in 2-5 minutes, while the butane expels as harmless water vapor through the ventilation ports on the front of the unit.

If  the iolite is left in the “on” position, simply turn the unit off and re-charge the iolite with Natural Butane gas to receive an additional two hours of vaporization.

Iolite Vaporizer Efficiency / Effectiveness

The thermostatically controlled bi-metal regulator maintains a steady temperature of 374 degrees Fahrenheit/ 190 degrees Celsius, which is the prime temperature to efficiently vaporize your blend.

Each draw from the iolite’s extendable mouthpiece produces a rich of layer of Vapor.  For added Vapor Quality I removed the moisture condenser and attached the optional Comfort Care Package onto the extendable Mouthpiece.

This 12 inch Vapor tool creates an elongated air corridor, allowing the vapor to cool down even more before entering the lungs. The Comfort Care Package makes the unit size only 18 inches from top to bottom and allows for long deep inhalations of your blend.

Iolite Vaporizer Warranty

Each iolite vaporizer comes complete with a two year manufactures warranty that is restricted to normal use.  After the original warranty expires, users can have their unit repaired for a nominal fee.

It don't get better that this

I got my Iolite delivered 3 days ago. I own 9 vaporizers. Each has some benefits and each has its own deficiencies. I will not compare any of them to the Iolite because the Iolite is in a class of its own. The Iolite fired up in about 60 seconds and was ready to vape. I was instructed by Got Vape to only put 5X butane into this instrument as it would perform best with 5X. When the friendly staff at GotVape tells me something I listen because I have found them correct and friendly about teaching me how to best use all the vaporizers I have bought from them and others. I got glass vaporizering tubes, ac vaporizers, dc vaporizers, digital vaporizers, vaporizors that use bic lighters, and a vaporizor that uses a torch and hot boxes. The reason I brought this up is because each has a learning curve and a art to make them function correct. Let me tell you that there is no learning curve on the Iolite. I idiot can't screw this up.
Within 60 seconds of turning it on the heat light went out and was ready for use. I took a draw on the tube for less than 5 seconds and when I released it a hugh vapor cloud came out and disappeared into thin air in a second. Zero smoke all vape. I took a second inhale and exactly the same thing happened. The flavor of the medicinal was sweeter and more pure than any thing I ever experienced. I shut it down and as insturcted by GotVape I produced another draw while shutting off. I am 61 years old and have been on meds for 45 years and I was perfectly happy at that point.
Several hours later I looked inside and saw mostly green meds left and started it again. Exactly the same result. In less than 2 minutes each time I was done. A couple of hours later I did the same thing and got the same vape. This was without changing the meds. No burn. I am not sure but I don't think you can burn with this thing. I opened it up a couple of hours later, mixed up what was in the original load and vaped again.
This is the only device I have found that will stretch your blends till you get every bit of med out of them. Product cost has gone way down by using this instrument. It will pay for itself in the amount of money it will save you having to buy more meds. But even more important it deliverers the best most economical vape on the face of the planet. You can not afford to not own this instrument, period. It produces rocket fuel and get 200 miles per gallon. It is with a doubt the best personal portable vaporizer anywhere. Iolite is a leap forward in vaporization

Plus points: As other commentators have pointed out, this vaporizer is highly portable, does not rely on batteries or electricity, has a one-button push operator requirement without needing to turn a dial, is durable, and works to achieve its set vaporization temperature in a brief period of time.

Minus points: it is hard to tell how much vapor can be further elicited from the sample after a cycle of use, but this is partly due to the nature of vaporization which, apparently, does not always produce visible vapor. It takes some dexterity getting used to its removable parts and compressed gas filling port engagement. The instruction manual is not the most descriptive (in addition to being in tiny font), and sites like this are likely the best for operating instructions.

Overall, a worthy vaporizer that will hopefully serve as the basis for further design improvements.

Excellent product

I have been using iolites since January 2009 to vapourise tobacco. I find this a very satisfatory alternative to smoking. I get through about an ounce of pipe tobacco a week (about £5). I was previously smoking 20 cigarettes a day which equates to £40 a week, so over the course of a year its saved me a lot of money and improved my health. I also now have a much better social life because there are no restrictions on using it inside bars, cinemas etc.

The product has been progressively improved and refined since it was launched in 2008. I've found the early models were a bit unreliable and I've had to send several units back to the Oglesby & Butler for replacement. This has never been a problem - fast, efficient, polite after sales service, and the latest replacement units which I have received are far more robust and reliable than the early models.

However I received a circular from Oglesby & Butler several weeks ago stating that they would no longer honour the warranty on units purchased from unauthorised dealers.

I suggest therefore that you purchase directly from GotVape.com or MyIolite.com. It's a little more expensive (£157 as against £120), but at least you can be assured that you are buying the very latest model, and that any warranty problems will be avoided in the future.

I've found the most pleasant tobacco to be Gold Block ready rubbed pipe tobacco. Dry it out on a tray, grind it up and away you go.

Like Yeahhhh!

Well, I never review nothing. But I sure am pleased with the results. Boy oh boy.

Ease of use for sure. The high creeps up slowly. You don't expect to get high because the flavour or the method is so odd at first. But cool nonetheless. (Disclaimer: In no way am I implying anything other than getting high from the pursuit of legal herbs. (Ha Ha As if!))

Vaping is a marvel of technology that the cavemen never could pursue. They had to burn the herb. Or did cavemen vape too? Another topic of discussion perhaps.

Vaping is like having your cake and eating it too. Fast high for less lung damage.

So I've never tried the volcano, but whateva. And the size - oh ya. Tiny like me.

The only thing I don't like is the butane that I feel like I might be inhaling with product.

When I researched vaporizers I wanted one that didn't produce toxic by-products. So I sure as hell hope I'm not sniffing gas.

Other than that, great product. So ya, worth the two bills I spent.

For Fifteen Long Minutes

I sat on the couch of my glorious bachelor pad as a good friend of mine handed me her packed iolite we had been vaporizing from. The blend had been packed minutes prior to the whole group going out for cigarette break. And for their whole blowing a butt session I sat as this delicate and small machine kept on yeilding a robust, subtle, but definite vapor clouds that shot my mind out of some old cannon. By any other vaporizer or any bowl packed should have been depleted by the time elasped, I was delightfully suprised at the capabilities of this tiny machine.

Vapor Hot

my first vaporizer for herb has found a new home. the packing of the bowl and lighting the heating element to vaporize the herb works very well. my biggest problem is the tube connectors. is there some sort of metal coupler to com intact with the heating element vapor release chamber that can be added to a cooler section away from the heating element? now I have a vapor unit but no way to consume the vapor coming from the heated element. Please advise...

My roommate purchased one of these just a couple months ago, and I've never used a better, more discrete vaporizer in my life. With the new metal hoses, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this product. It is perfect for anytime. I would highly recommend this item to anyone looking to buy a vaporizer.

Amazing unit

This was the first vaporizer I ever purchased and I am very happy with it. Never has vaporizing on the go been so easy. The fact that it runs on butane is great because I never have to worry about lugging around spare batteries, just a squirt of butane for two hours of continuous use. People seem to not like to heat up time but mine heats up fast and stays hot. There was only one problem with this product, the hoses seemed to snap off for no reason but now that they have switched to the metal hoses this vaporizer is perfect.

I would highly recommend this being your next purchase because mine never leaves my side.

The Iolite is awsome, i love it ! First off it came in my favorite color, green. Its a great portable vaperizor and really discreet. Ever since i got it take it with me everywhere and it runs off of butane so i dont have to worry about charging it ever. I would recemmend this unit to everyone, all my friends that have used it have already ordered there own.

The Iolite vaporizer caught my eye when I first saw it in my local smoke shop a while back. I read some reviews on the internet about it, and it had a couple of great selling points. First things first, no flame needed. That made me a bit skeptical at first, but after reading about the breakthrough technology, I was sold. I currently have a Silver Surfer Vaporizer, but I have been wanting to go portable for quite some time now. I bit the bullet, and purchased myself the black Iolite Vaporizer. I made the purchase from Got Vape because they have the Power Package deal with the free Comfort Care Pack. Upon reciving it, I inserted the provided butane into the Iolite, and began vaping. The vape was fairly impressive for it being a portable unit, and I was STOKED! Since then, my Silver Surfer has been gathering dust while I have been using my Iolite.

Best Movie Buddy Ever

Finally I can Vape on the Go. I got this vape as a package deal when I bought my Volcano. The guy told me this was the best portable vape on the market. He wasn't lying. What I like most about this unit is I put in in a big Gulp and use the Medical tubing as a straw thru the cup. No one knows what it is and it’s the funniest thing ever. It makes no noise at all and hardly can even smell anything. I do have to say that it is a personal unit though. It gives off just enough Vape for me but I wouldn’t recommend sharing it with anybody else. I would recommend them to get one themselves. Another great feature is it looks like a walkie talkie so when I’m in public I act like I'm talking on a nextel chirp phone. It’s the greatest. The only downfall i have with it is that it doesn’t always start after on pull of the trigger but eventually it does end up igniting and getting warm. I found that I just have to have patience with the unit. Besides that it was one of the greatest purchases I have made in 09. Thank you Mr. Oglesby&Butler.

Don't Buy From a Smoke Shop!!!!!!!!!

I heard other peoples works but mine doesn't This thing sucks!!!! It heats up, but no vapor comes out. I have wasted so much stuff trying to get it to work. Of course I bought from a head shop. So, no receipt. Can't take it back. I paid 220.00 for a piece of crap. If I wait about 30 mins. it will start to work, by then, everything is heated and used up. I have to refill the gas all the time. What a waste!!!!! I wish I would've bought online so I could made sure my warranty was legitimate.

There is a God

Finally a portable unit that works! The Iolite has revolutionized the on-the-go vape. After wasting money on several differnt portable units and being throughly disapointed with each, the Iolite has reaffirmed my love for vaporizers. The ease of operating it was amazing, i feel like if it was sold in retail stores the box would say for ages 18-118. Its easy to maintain with included tools to clean and fix almost any problem involed with it, and there's no placticy manufacture malodor to deal with. It has sleek aesthetic with different colors to choose from, and can easily fit into ones pocket, no bigger then a 90's cell phone. I don't know who's feet to grovel at, my friend who introduced me to this unit or the makers of it.

I love my iolite vaporizer!!! it may take a little bit to heat up, but that is easy to deal with. It does the job, and I can take it anywhere I want without having to deal with a big hassle, plus it has little smell. that right there is the best thing about it. So if anyone is looking for a vaporizer, this is easily in my opinion the best to even start off with. everyone needs a travel vaporizer that can just be in ur pocket like a cell phone

I love my Iolite! I had heard about the unit from a friend who got it for portability. I used hers and knew I needed one for myself. I am usually not a fan of portable units because of how bulky and inconvenient they end up being. On top of that I rarely see one that is discrete. The Iolite has it all in one. It fits in the palm of my hand and runs strictly off of butane. The catalytic converter turns the butane into water vapors that escape from the slats on the side of the unit so I’m not inhaling anything but vapor. The best part is that the unit really produces. I love my portable unit and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

The I-O-Lite is my newest addition to my Vaporizer Collection and I must say I wish I bought this one first, it would have saved me a lot of money. This is the easiest to use, the quickest to get started, and when you are on the go like me you want to be able to multi task. I can get my blend loaded and vaping while doing almost anything at the same time --- I LOVE IT!!!!

The best part is I do not need electricity or even an adapter to my car I can bring it any where and that means the most to me.

The Iolite Portable Vaporizer is a truly portable unit. I’ve had my iolite for about 2 months and I’ve had two months of portable vapor freedom. I haven’t had any problems with my vape, the fact that it is so user friendly I think every one should have one.My friend and I take our iolite’s hiking and the trails have never been so beautiful. Because of the size it’s perfect for anyone with an active out door lifestyle, Or I can just put it in my bag and hit the party scene .the iolite is the new black dress, you need it like you need a new pair of shoes. The Comfort Care Package I received from Got vape.com was the cherry on top. If you want a truly portable vaporizer I would recommend the Iolite =)

WE Be in HoustanLantaVegas ...

This unit so far for my friend, has worked pretty well. I did get it for Her due to the fact that she will use it on a daily basis. The fact that is a Portable unit has actually been very useful. At times she complains that the unit will sometimes lack in the heating up area, but for the most part has worked out to be effecient . The idea that it runs strictly off of butane is what caught her attention, and yes indeed that is the reason why she love it so much.

All I have to say is I am a Bag user. I am on the go alot and have come to realize that this is the unit for me while im traveling. It fits in my pocket and I can sneak it in just about everywhere I go. It also does not leave too much of an odor so im able to use it indoors as well as out. I use this in clubs, theme parks and those trips to the movies with my lady. So I have to thank the maker for such a genius idea. Also I thank GotVape for sending me the unit and the nice lady Ambi for giving me a discount on Vape tools and my own GotVape grinder. Thanks, Got Vape and Mr. Iolite. Satisfied once again. Best Vape!

I made the switch to vaporizing about a year ago and it has been an awesome change! I feel healthier and have much more energy. I started using the air one 5.0 and loved the balloon bags (forced air units are my favorite). After a year I wanted to try another unit, while looking online at GotVape.com I saw the special for the iolite. Immediately I loved the choice of colors and how small it was, I bought it off instinct. When I received it I was pleasantly surprised, it produced such a dense vapor and was so simple to use. I now use that unit everyday and take it everywhere with me it’s my cell phones best friend. To anyone that is debating on a portable unit the iolite is the way to go!

Impressive product

Received my Iolite from GotVape.com along with many accessories, butane and an extra tubing mouth piece. The packaging was first class. After reading the short instructions, I then filled the unit with butane. It would have been better if the manufacture had built in some type of gage on the unit to tell you how much butane was in the unit or would tell you when it was full. They should add that feature to the next units. Anyway, after filling the unit I then turned it on, hit the igniter button. Sometimes you may need to hit the button a second time. I then could hear a hissing sound coming from the unit which tells me it is heating up.

The folks at Gotvape recommended that I let it heat up for a few minutes before loading it with herb. You will need to buy a grinder to grind the hear first. I bought a really nice one from Gotvape.

After loading the unit with herb I then let it sit for 2 minutes before taking a hit. The unit comes with a mouth piece which comes in different pieces so you can extent it making it longer. It also comes with some tubing if you like that instead. The mouthpiece does get warm so I prefer making it longer. Worked out great.

After taking a few hits I noticed that when I exhaled I didn't see much of anything. I first thought to myself that the unit wasn't working right. Sure enough, a few minutes later I could feel the strong effects. It kind of creeped up on me.

I'm impressed as to how easy it is to operate this unit. I doubt that many other vaporizers are this easy to use. I even decided to take it with me out in public to give it a try. Sure enough, not one person had any idea what it was. It looks like a cell phone and fits in the hand perfectly. The plastic it is made of is pharmaceutical grade plastic so the unit is very lite. It even came with a cool case for it.

One thing I was very impressed with was the staff at Gotvape. I've called them a few times after getting the unit and asked many questions. They gave me many good tips and always made me felt welcome to call anytime. Also, my transactions with them have been fast and professional. One thing is for sure, these people want their customers to be happy and that comes across.

Anyway, the Iolite is a very cool product which does everything they say it can do. I recommend it.

Best Thing To Hit The Market

This is by far the best invention when it comes to vaporization! This allows me to vape virtually anywhere anytime. No Battery, 2hr charge, and pocket sized! What more can you ask for?
